Bishop Harold E. Pauls was born on June 17, 1932 in the town of Denmark, SC. In 1950 he married the late Isalene Kirland and from this union came seven children. At the age of 27, he received a call from God while down at the fishing creek. From that day forward, the late Bishop Pauls answered the call of God and his ministry began. He has the testimony of being pronounced dead and being brought back to life. Also, of laying hands on his dead son’s body and calling him back to life and many other miracles were wrought by the Man of God hands.

​Pastor Isalene K. Pauls was born on November 20, 1930 in the town of Bamberg, SC. The late Pastor Pauls accepted the Lord at an early age in her life. Once she accepted the Lord, she answered the call to evangelize and from this work many souls were won to Christ. In her walk with God a lady was raised from the dead by the laying on of her hands.

​Both Bishop Harold E. Pauls and Pastor Isalene K. Pauls Founded Rome Street Holiness Church in Orangeburg, South Carolina in 1970. The growth of the church birthed pastors, prophets, missionaries, ministers, and lay members young and old. Through their ministry many souls were saved, and fill with the Holy Ghost, and the dead was raised, and the good news of Jesus Christ was shared. The work that was started by their hands will never be forgotten.
